Nord Pool allows RUSAL’s Swedish unit to resume trading

MOSCOW, May 8 (PRIME) -- Trading floor for electric power Nord Pool has allowed Kubal, a Swedish plant of Russian aluminum company UC RUSAL, to resume trading after suspension in April, Nord Pool said in a statement Tuesday.

“Nord Pool wishes to inform that Kubikenborg Aluminium AB’s suspension from trading on its markets has been lifted, and that the company can again start trading on Nord Pool markets from today, Tuesday 8 May 2018,” the statement said.

Access to power purchases on the bourse was suspended on April 18 due to a breach of clearing rules, Nord Pool said earlier without elaborating.

On April 6, the U.S. imposed sanctions against 38 Russian tycoons, officials and companies, including RUSAL.
